There is a reason that celebrities select Invisalign® to tighten up their smiles. Although many do not talk about orthodontic treatment publicly, there are many celebrities with Invisalign. If you are curious about whether a smile is authentic or a product of orthodontic treatment, you may never know.
This One is All Natural — Nichelle Nichols
Early in her career as the returning Star Trek character, Lt. Uhura, one of her most noticeable features was her smile. Back in the late 1960s, dental work was just becoming a thing and all the celebrities wanted straight and perfect white smiles.
When asked who did her dental work, Ms. Nichols calmly replied that her smile was 100 percent natural. While the other cast members were paying a fortune to have that perfect look, she was born with it!
Unfortunately, we are not all blessed with such a breathtakingly beautiful smile. For those who need assistance, Invisalign® has filled a large gap (no pun intended) in the orthodontic industry. Whether you need a minor adjustment or major alignment, Invisalign might be right for you.
A Boost to Confidence and Self-Esteem
Celebrities with Invisalign don’t seem to need a boost to their confidence level. Although they appear to be well-grounded and happy in their portrayals on-screen, that may not have always been the case.
Zac Efron used Invisalign to remove some gaps in his teeth that made him self-conscious. Check out his earlier work as a Disney star in High School Musical. You can see very slight imperfections that were gone by the time he filmed the Ted Bundy story in his mid-20s.
As Serena Williams began wowing the tennis world, she wanted a boost to her self-esteem that matched her skill on the court. She had Invisalign treatment to neaten up her smile for on-camera appearances during interviews.

Whether you are naturally confident or not, Invisalign can provide a boost. Having a straight and perfect smile just makes you want to smile more!
How Invisalign Works to Straighten Teeth
Although most people understand that Invisalign includes almost invisible tray aligners, many don’t know how it works.
Traditional braces work using tension to create the necessary force to shift teeth into position. The tension is created using brackets which the orthodontist affixes to teeth. An archwire connects to each bracket. By tightening the wire, tension increases which create the force that does the work of moving teeth. Braces pull teeth into alignment.
Invisalign uses constant pressure to push teeth into position. Trays are made in sequential sets that progress from the initial alignment to the projected perfect alignment. Patients switch tray sets approximately every two weeks. With each new tray set, teeth are pushed closer to perfect alignment.
Invisalign is comfortable, almost invisible, and has a long track record of success. In fact, it has successfully helped straighten over ten million smiles!
Although some treatment plans can be as short as 3 to 6 months, the average treatment plan lasts 12 to 18 months. During that time patients wear the custom-fit alignment trays and are able to do everything in their normal routine. For celebrities with Invisalign, that includes interviews and even walking the red carpet!
2 Awesome Young Celebrities with Invisalign
When he was a rising star still recording his hit songs on YouTube from his home in Canada, a young Justin Bieber spent part of his paycheck on Invisalign. He talked about it on a video, even removing the aligner to show his fans. Since then, he has continued his rise in the music world becoming a respectable adult singing star.
One of our favorite young celebrities with Invisalign is actress Marsai Martin. After beginning in national commercials, Ms. Martin scored the role of Diane Johnson on the hit TV series, “Black-ish.” From there it has been a fast ride to the top of fan lists everywhere.
Ms. Martin was selected by Align Technology to host the award ceremony on YouTube for the Invisalign ChangeMakers program. The award program selects 100 outstanding young people who have contributed to their community in some way. Co-sponsored by the National 4-H Council, the program gifts each winner $5,000 to use in their community.
Align Technology didn’t just select Ms. Martin randomly — she is an Invisalign veteran. You can check out the Winner’s Gallery for the ChangeMakers program. The winners, aged 13 to 19, are amazing!

Singer-actress Zendaya Coleman of Nickelodean’s “Shake It Up” also has an Invisalign-enhanced smile. Actor Tom Cruise had a misplaced front tooth early in his career. Using a combination of clear ceramic braces and Invisalign, his now-perfect smile is the one we remember.
Although actor Eddie Murphy and Talk-Show host Michael Strahan chose to keep their famous gap-toothed grins, many others have opted to close the gap. Actor-Politician Arnold Schwarzenegger, Actor Jack Black, and Actress Demi Lovato all chose to close their gaps using Invisalign.
