Metal braces have been the go-to solution for correcting misaligned teeth for decades, and for good reason. The science behind them is rooted in the principles of orthodontics – the careful application of forces to gently shift teeth into the proper position. And while many alternative treatments are available, metal braces still offer some unique benefits that make them the best choice for certain patients.
One of the key advantages of metal braces is their exceptional durability. Made from high-quality materials like stainless steel, they can withstand the rigorous demands of orthodontic treatment without losing effectiveness. And because they’re affixed to the teeth with strong, secure brackets and wires, they allow for precise control over the movement of each tooth. This makes them an ideal choice for complex cases where a high degree of accuracy is required.
Clear ceramic braces are cutting-edge orthodontic technology that combines the best of both worlds. They use the latest advances in materials science to create a lightweight, durable, and virtually invisible appliance that provides excellent results. Unlike traditional metal braces, clear ceramic braces blend in seamlessly with your teeth, making them far less noticeable.
Because they’re designed to be low-profile and discreet, they’re a great option for anyone who wants to straighten their teeth without drawing attention to their treatment. If you’re looking for a comfortable, effective, and aesthetically pleasing way to straighten your teeth, clear ceramic braces may be the perfect choice for you.
Invisalign is a revolutionary orthodontic treatment that is changing the way people think about braces. It works by using a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually shift teeth into their correct position. And while it may seem like magic, there’s actually a lot of science behind it.
Every few weeks, you switch to a new set of aligners that are slightly different from the previous ones. This gradual shift is what moves your teeth into the desired position. And the best part? The aligners are removable, so you can eat, brush, and floss like you normally would.

Meet Our Orthodontists
Before anything else, Dr. Sokoloff is going to sit down with you and get to know you. This interview is important because it helps our orthodontist understand your unique situation, concerns, and goals. We want to make sure that we’re offering you the best possible care tailored to your needs and goals.
Then, Dr. Sokoloff will examine your teeth and jaw to determine what kind of treatment might be necessary. This will involve looking at your teeth and taking impressions to create a personalized plan for your specific needs.
You may also have X-rays taken during your initial visit to help the orthodontist see any underlying issues that may not be visible from the surface.
Finally, after completing all of these steps, Dr. Sokoloff will discuss his findings with you and recommend a course of action. This could include anything from braces or aligners to surgery or other procedures depending on the severity of your case.
Overall, visiting an orthodontist for the first time can be a bit intimidating, but it’s important to remember that they’re here to help you achieve a healthier, happier smile!
Your First Visit
Going to an orthodontist might seem scary initially, but it’s very important for your overall health! If you have crooked or crowded teeth, an overbite or underbite, or any other issue with the way your jaw and teeth are aligned, an orthodontist can help fix those problems.
Crooked or misaligned teeth can lead to problems with chewing, speaking, and even breathing. Plus, they’re harder to clean properly, which can increase the risk of cavities and gum disease. So, if you’re wondering how your visit will go at Sokoloff Orthodontics, here are the main components.
